Rampant in rural areas mainly
Though i have not witnessed any case of domestic voilence, but what I think is that this practise is rampant in rural areas and Tier II and III cities.But that does not mean that in urban areas it is not found. Even educated people indulge themselves in such inhumane activities.For instance , in north Delhi, a woman was burnt alive because she was not able to meet to her in-laws financial demands.
It needs social awareness , a mere law will not help. but can become as a deterrent .
