That’s what the men of "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" are doing. Based out of California, "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" encourages men across the country to literally take a step outside in our shoes. Walk in those heels! Walk tall and walk proud!

I love the concept of men walking a mile in women’s shoes and what that signifies. As Breakthrough involves men in the dialogue to try and fight violence against women, it recognizes that it does take two to bring the violence to a halt. For issues such as domestic violence, marital rape, rape and even things such as eve-teasing, it is important for men to understand the level of vulnerability that women have to deal with on a day to day basis.
It is something completely foreign to men, this feeling of not being in control, of being vulnerable to the watchful gaze of lecherous men or having our access to public space limited on account of our sex.
I applaud these men who have not only talked the talked, but also walked the walked!
