In the News: UK government/public consultation on violence against women
The largest cross government public consultation kicked off in the UK earlier this month, and its about violence against women!
The consultation was launched after a poll showed that one-third of respondents knew victims of domestic violence and two in five women thought that the victim was partly or fully accoutable for sexual assault or rape because of heavy flirting.
The program will also assist in behavior change, teaching young boys how to deal with their anger, how to respect women, but also teaching young girls to respect themselves, that there are no circumstances in which violence against women and girls is justifiable.
with Home Secretary Jacqui Smith on the BBC Radio 4 to learn more about this innovative new partnership and initiative.
