Social Media Buzz: R&B, Jazz singer's website rings the bell

May 21, 2009adminblog0

There are few celebrities who, apart from being concerned about their own fame, show concern about a social issue. Singer Patti Austin belongs to those few, as seen by her increased involvement with spreading awareness about domestic violence.

Patti Austin has been actively involved with the Blue Movement which provides help and support to victims of domestic violence. And how? Unlike others of her ilk, Patti Austin has gone virtual and dedicated an altogether separate space on her website, towards talking about Domestic Abuse. Over there, she urges visitors to subscribe to her newsletter where she talks extensively on the subject.

In her latest article, Austin writes about the dangers of domestic violence on Scribd. She says, "Cases of domestic violence can be against of any age, sex, race, culture, religion, education, employment or marital status. Anyone can be a victim… anyone can be a victim."

While providing an insight into the murky area of domestic violence, Austin also invites YOU to volunteer and come forward to help the victims of domestic violence. Whereas for the victims, her message is clear and in bold–" There is help. All you have to do is ask."

Join Patti Austin and help end domestic violence. Visit her website.
