Christina Aguilera Opens Up About Her Violent Father
We’ve been covering domestic a lot lately with the whole Chris Brown/Rihanna mess. And now Christina Aguilera former Mickey Mouseketeer and teen pop star known for the song Beautiful is coming out with her own personal story. Aguilera is speaking out about her violent father in a new television documentary. She says that life was hell for her, her mom and sisters.
From Celebrifi:
She said, “I witnessed a lot of unpleasant things – a lot of pushing and shoving and fighting and quarrelling. Growing up I did not feel safe. Feeling powerless is the worst feeling in the world. I turned to singing as an outlet. The pain at home is where my love for music came from.”
Christina’s mother, Shelly, describes one horrible incident when she found her four-year-old daughter with blood dripping from her chin.
Shelly said, “I scooped her up and said, ‘Oh my God. What’s wrong?’ She told me, ‘Daddy wanted to take a nap and I made too much noise.’”
Shelly eventually left her violent husband, moving in with her own mother, Christina’s grandmother.
Fausto [her father] has since begged for forgiveness but Christina has no desire to have a relationship with him, adding, “I let him back into my life briefly but I soon realised that he is not necessary in my life.”
