Bell Bajao! campaign bags two more awards

September 29, 2009adminAwards, blog1

spikes_asia_2009The nation wide campaign against domestic violence, Bell Bajao! launched by Breakthrough in Aug 2008 has already won several advertising awards. The latest in the list being, a Gold Spike at the recently concluded Spikes Asia 2009 – First Asian Advertising Festival held in Singapore. The Bell Bajao! media campaign was created pro bono by Ogilvy and Mather (O&M) and popular actor Boman Irani is the brand Ambassador.

To briefly explain the idea behind the campaign,

We wanted to go beyond merely raising awareness about domestic violence. We set ourselves the objective of trying to resolve the rampant problem of domestic violence by asking people to get involved. And what we came up with was a simple yet innovative solution that would bring domestic violence to a grinding halt.

Advertising Club Bombay held last Friday

Coming as a double excitement the Advertising Club of Bombay hosted the second edition of Young Achievers’ Awards on Friday evening where O&M’s Ryan Mendonca was recognized as best copywriter for his campaign ‘Breakthrough – Domestic Violence’ for the Bell Bajao! campaign. Find a detailed report here

Our heartiest congratulations to O&M. We at Breakthrough are delighted to work with such creative minds and we hope to make a big change with the campaign.
